OpenAI Chief Financial Officer: The company's products are experiencing a "sharp upward" surge in demand
OpenAI Chief Financial Officer Sara Frier rebutted claims from outside sources questioning the company’s failure to meet internal performance targets, stating that the company is on track to achieve its established goals, and that its products are facing a wall of sharply rising demand (extremely strong and surging). Frier said in an interview, “Overall, our senior management’s operational performance has outperformed the original plan. The specific implementation path will fluctuate over time, after all, the business is still in its early stages, and various detailed indicators cannot yet be accurately predicted.” This week, reports indicated that this AI startup’s revenue and user growth did not meet internal targets, putting OpenAI under public scrutiny. The report also mentioned that Frier had previously expressed concern that if revenue growth fell short of expectations, the company might be unable to bear the future massive costs of computing power investments.
