Just realized I've been confused about when my SSI and Social Security actually hit. Turns out it's not random—they literally base it on your birthday, which is kind of wild. So if you're born between the 1st and 10th, you get paid the second Wednesday. 11th to 20th gets the third Wednesday, and 21st to 31st is the fourth Wednesday. But here's the thing: will SSI checks come early this month or does that only apply to certain situations? Apparently if you get both SSI and Social Security, the timing is different. And if you claimed before 1997, you're on a whole different schedule. The average retired worker gets around $2,008 monthly, but obviously it depends on your work history. I had no idea the SSA calculated it based on your 35 highest-earning years. Anyone else just find this stuff out? I thought payments were more random than this. Definitely worth checking the SSA website if you're unsure when yours comes through.
