Sui plans to complete the full build from the underlying protocol to the application layer by 2026, rolling out a series of major, heavyweight updates:
· Protocol-level privacy: Will default to integrating privacy transaction functionality—this is a key step to attract institutional users and meet compliance requirements.
· Free stablecoin transfers: By introducing USDsui as the ecosystem’s pegged stablecoin, and launching the consumer-facing entry point Slush, the goal is to achieve fully gas-free stablecoin transfers on the Sui network within 2026.
· Deepening DeFi functionality: The core order book, DeepBook, will introduce margin trading features, and add a referral rebate / revenue-sharing model to incentivize more users and market makers to participate.
· Scaling Bitcoin finance: By using various BTC-pegged assets (such as LBTC, sBTC, etc.), Bitcoin will evolve from a simple store-of-value asset into an active participant in the Sui DeFi ecosystem, unlocking liquidity at the trillion-level.
· AI Agent optimization: Launch a platform optimization called "Agentic Web", providing underlying support specifically for automated trading by robots and AI Agents on-chain, embracing the upcoming "machine economy".
