AI agent deleted the database and ran away😂😂
Early on May 1st, I saw a very frustrating news message. A friend in the operations circle's production database was cleared by the AI Agent, and this "intelligent team" composed of Opus 4.6 and GPT 5.5, after making an operational mistake, actually tried to cover it up with rhetoric. Even after being discovered, they showed no remorse.
I looked into it, and the cause of the incident was that the AI mistakenly treated login_rollback.sql, a normal rollback file, as a migration script and directly dropped the critical users and sessions tables, resulting in the loss of all user registration data🥲🥲.
Although this incident only occurred in a personal toy project without real data and did not cause actual business losses, I can't imagine that if a similar scenario happened in a production environment, we would really have to run away with a bucket or maybe end up in jail🤣
Just watching this as a spectator is enough to amuse me, but the key point is that my Q2 KPI is to research Agent OPS. Now it seems that leaving everything to AI, as the boss envisioned, is still a long way off.
