Just looked back at Bitcoin's 5-year performance and honestly it's pretty wild. If you'd thrown $1,000 into BTC around 2020, you'd be sitting on over $10K by now. That's nearly 10x returns, which is insane when you think about it.

Right now Bitcoin price USD is hovering around $76.5K, which is actually down quite a bit from where it was a few months back. It hit like $126K not too long ago, so we're definitely pulling back from those highs. But here's the thing - even with this pullback, if you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, Bitcoin has basically kept proving all the skeptics wrong year after year.

There's some interesting stuff potentially coming up too. You've got the interest rate situation that could change things, more companies starting to hold Bitcoin as part of their treasury strategy, and the regulatory environment getting a bit clearer. Whether Bitcoin price USD keeps climbing or consolidates more, the long-term trend has been pretty hard to bet against if you had the patience to hold.

Obviously nobody knows exactly where it goes from here, but the catalysts are definitely worth watching. Five years is a long time in crypto, but the people who just bought and held have generally done pretty well. Not financial advice obviously, just observing what the data shows.
