So I was digging through some historical stock data and stumbled on something pretty wild about Nvidia. If you'd thrown $10k at it five years ago, you'd be sitting on around $160k right now. That's roughly 1,500% in gains. Not bad for a company that basically rode the AI wave to the moon.
The thing is, Nvidia didn't just luck into this. Their GPUs became the backbone of the entire AI infrastructure boom. Every major company building AI models needed their hardware, and Nvidia had basically zero competition that could match their performance. It's the kind of position every tech company dreams about.
Looking at their latest numbers, revenue jumped about 69% year-over-year to hit $44.1 billion. Even their adjusted earnings per share grew 33% despite heavy spending on future growth. That's the kind of growth trajectory that keeps investors interested.
What's interesting is that Nvidia isn't just resting on GPU sales anymore. They're eyeing bigger plays in areas like processing services and robotics. The AI hardware dominance they've built gives them serious competitive advantages to expand into these spaces.
Obviously, past performance doesn't guarantee anything going forward. But watching how Nvidia positioned itself at the center of the AI revolution has been a masterclass in timing and execution. Whether it continues crushing it from here is another question, but the foundation they've built is pretty solid.
