Recently, the on-chain activity is really full of "waiting": waiting for confirmation, waiting for a callback, waiting to figure out whether I want to delegate my votes or not. To be honest, delegating votes is quite similar to me handing over the flower arrangements in my shop to a regular customer coach... It’s convenient, but in the end, whether the cup tastes good or not still depends on what they say. Who exactly are governance tokens governing? Many times, they govern those "people who don’t have time to watch the forums." We delegate with a single click and then go about our business, but gradually it turns into a few big accounts + institutions setting the agenda. Plus, with this wave of new L1/L2 projects issuing incentives to attract TVL, old users complain about "mining, selling, and dumping," which I can understand: people are waiting for airdrops while conveniently delegating their votes, accelerating the oligarchic nature of governance. Anyway, my current approach is, if I can vote myself, I do it myself; if I really need to delegate, I change it periodically, or else it’s too easy to fall asleep at the wheel.
