U.S. officials say Iran's war costs may reach $50 billion, twice the official disclosure

Golden Finance reports that on May 1, U.S. officials revealed that the true cost of military operations against Iran could be close to $50 billion—about twice the $25 billion previously disclosed by the Pentagon in a congressional hearing. It is understood that the Pentagon’s earlier $25 billion estimate did not fully account for expenses such as equipment losses and damage to military facilities. An informed official said that as the operation continues, ammunition consumption and equipment losses have become the main reasons for the rising costs. For example, 24 MQ-9 “Reaper” drones have already been destroyed, with each valued at approximately $30 million. (CCTV News)
