Trump Claims Iran's Nuclear Capability 'Destroyed'

On May 1, U.S. President Trump stated at a White House press conference that recent military actions by the U.S. have ‘destroyed’ Iran’s nuclear capabilities and significantly weakened its overall military strength. He claimed that Iran’s navy and air force are ‘almost non-existent,’ approximately 82% of drone factories have been weakened, missile factories are nearly 90% damaged, and most missile systems have been destroyed. Trump noted that the U.S. has completed key strike missions in a short period and emphasized that without action, Iran ‘could obtain nuclear weapons,’ which is ‘absolutely unacceptable.’ He mentioned that current negotiations with Iran are stalled, but Iran is ‘very eager to reach an agreement.’ Trump stated that the details of the negotiations are known only to a select few senior officials in the U.S. He added that under economic sanctions and military pressure, Iran’s economy is facing severe difficulties, with a significant drop in oil revenues. He emphasized that the U.S. goal is to compel Iran to abandon its nuclear weapons development while pushing for a resolution through negotiations as soon as possible.
