Just caught Montrose Environmental's Q4 results and there's some interesting stuff here. Revenue hit $193.27M, up 2.2% year-over-year, but what stood out more was the earnings surprise - EPS came in at $0.35 versus the $0.24 consensus estimate. That's a solid beat, nearly 49% above expectations.
Digging into the segments, Assessment and Permitting actually jumped 16.7% which is pretty strong growth. The Remediation & Reuse side was basically flat, while Measurements & Analysis dipped about 6.7%. So Montrose is seeing some uneven performance across divisions, but the overall beat suggests the market underestimated their positioning.
Stock's down 2.6% over the past month though, which is interesting given the earnings surprise. Montrose Environmental seems to be holding a Zacks Rank 3 (Hold), so nothing too exciting from a momentum perspective. Worth watching if the Assessment segment can keep that growth trajectory going.
