PayPal restructures its business framework to include cryptocurrency as an independent core segment

Golden Finance reports that on April 30th, payment giant PayPal officially announced a strategic restructuring, simplifying its business into three core segments: payments and PayPal, consumer financial services and Venmo, and cryptocurrency and payment services. Among them, cryptocurrency and payment services are listed as a separate core business division, integrating payment processing, platform capabilities, and crypto operations, including Braintree, small and medium merchant payment processing, value-added services, and the stablecoin PYUSD, with Jeff Pomeroy appointed as the interim head of this segment.
Analysis suggests that independently incorporating the cryptocurrency business into the core operational structure indicates that PayPal is further strengthening its stablecoin PYUSD and digital asset payment ecosystem.
