Just stumbled on this analysis about a couple of Canadian penny stocks that analysts were pretty hyped about back in 2024. Both had Strong Buy ratings, which caught my attention. One was Lithium Ionic Corp trading on the TSE - basically a lithium mining play in Brazil. They were pre-revenue at the time but the price target suggested crazy upside, like 545% potential. The other was Green Impact Partners focused on renewable natural gas across North America. Similar story with analysts calling it a best penny stock pick, showing 234% upside potential. Both had taken pretty hard hits that year though, down 70% and 28% respectively. I know penny stocks are super risky and volatile, but these kinds of analyst picks can be interesting if you've got the stomach for it. The lithium angle made sense given the EV boom, and the renewable energy play seemed solid too. Obviously you'd want to do your own research before touching anything like this - penny stocks are basically high-risk, high-reward territory. Not sure if these are still relevant plays now, but it's wild how much the best penny stocks can swing. Anyone else been looking at these kinds of speculative Canadian plays?
