Just saw this SEC filing from early this year - Bank of Hawaii director Robert Wo Jr. dumped 5,000 shares from his trust right after the CEO announced he was retiring at the end of March. Transaction was around $393k, so not massive, but the timing is interesting. Dude still holds a ton of shares directly and through various trusts, so it's not like he's completely bailing. But combined with the bank's geographic concentration issue - they're basically locked into Hawaii and Pacific Islands operations - and four years of stock price declines, you have to wonder what's next for them. The CEO transition timing makes this feel worth watching. Is insider selling after a leadership change a red flag or just normal portfolio management? Curious what other investors think about this one. The dividend yield is decent at 3.5%, but that might not be enough if the company can't figure out how to grow beyond their island footprint.
