Just noticed Hyundai's February numbers came in pretty solid - they hit 65,677 total sales, up 6% year-over-year. That's their best February on record, and honestly, the real story here is what's driving it. Their SUV lineup (Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Kona) is still the workhorse, but what caught my eye is the EV and hybrid push.
Electric and hybrid sales jumped 56% combined to 22,357 units - that's a massive jump. Hybrids especially are exploding with a 79% surge. The IONIQ 5 is performing well, and their hybrid models across the board (Sonata HEV, Elantra HEV, Santa Fe HEV, Tucson HEV) seem to be hitting with consumers. Looks like they've figured out a solid sales formula that blends their traditional ICE lineup with electrified options.
They've now had three straight months of record total sales, and year-to-date they're up 4% to 121,301 units. If this momentum holds, seems like their balanced approach to EVs, hybrids, and conventional vehicles is paying off. The company's betting on this mix to keep the trajectory going strong.
