Just been reading about potential tariff issues and honestly, might be worth thinking about what to stock up on for your pantry. Not trying to fear-monger or anything, but food prices could get weird and some stuff might be harder to find. Here's what I'm considering stocking up on:
Rice is pretty solid - it's cheap and keeps you full. White rice lasts way longer than brown, like we're talking years if you store it right in airtight containers. Beans are another no-brainer, packed with protein and fiber, and they keep forever basically if stored properly.
Canned goods are clutch because they last forever and give you variety - soups, veggies, fruit, whatever. Just keep them in a cool cabinet spot, don't freeze them. Meat's always good to have in the freezer anyway, especially red meat which stays good for ages. Ground meat doesn't last as long though.
Nuts are underrated - solid nutrients and pretty shelf-stable. Coffee too, which honestly saves money compared to hitting up coffee shops all the time. And dark chocolate lasts surprisingly long if you keep it away from heat.
I'm not saying go crazy and stock up like the apocalypse is coming, but having some of these essentials on hand seems like basic prep. What to stock up on really depends on what you actually eat, but these are solid options that won't go bad. You doing anything similar or am I overthinking this?
