CryptoWorld News reports that Syndicate Labs has confirmed that its cross-chain bridge was attacked. The attacker used a leaked upgrade key to hijack the bridge, resulting in the theft of about 18.5 million SYND tokens valued at around $330,000, as well as about $50,000 in users’ funds. The incident caused the SYND price to drop by more than 30% on some exchanges. Syndicate Labs said the attack was carried out after multiple rounds of reconnaissance and infrastructure mapping, and that it ruled out involvement by insiders. To prevent similar incidents from happening again, Syndicate Labs is strengthening key management, plans to introduce hardware or multi-signature mechanisms, and will monitor upgrade paths in real time.
