Just caught that Ethiopian Airlines is going big on Boeing - ordered 9 more 787 Dreamliners plus 11 737 MAXs. Pretty interesting timing given how much long-haul demand has picked up lately.

They're already running Africa's biggest 787 fleet, so this expansion makes sense. The 787s hit different with that 25% fuel efficiency gain compared to older models, which matters a lot for their route strategy across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. They're connecting 145 international destinations now and still growing.

What's cool is how they're optimizing cargo space too - using the belly capacity for high-demand trade routes between Africa and other continents. Feels like Ethiopian Airlines is positioning itself as THE carrier for the continent's long-haul game. Boeing's definitely banking on African carriers stepping up their international presence. The whole order book is 20 new jets total, so they're serious about this expansion phase.
