Just saw Aker BP handed out a pretty significant MMO contract to Aker Solutions - covers all their Norwegian shelf operations for the next five years. Honestly, the scale of these long-term maintenance and modification deals is wild. They're basically betting on this integrated team approach to speed things up and cut costs through better data workflows and AI integration.
The MMO agreement includes extension options too, so if it works out, they could be locked in for way longer. What's interesting is they're framing this as a way to support smaller field developments while upgrading existing infrastructure at the same time. That's the kind of efficiency play the industry's been talking about for years.
Both stocks dipped slightly when this was announced - Aker BP down around 0.4% and Aker Solutions down 0.59%. Could be just market noise, but sometimes these long-term commitments make investors nervous until they see actual results. The MMO model they're pushing here with the performance-linked pricing is definitely the direction everyone's moving though.
