so apparently your dog can eat watermelon and i had no idea. just found out it's actually safe and even good for them during hot weather? like it's hydrating and has vitamins and all that.

the catch though - and this is important - you gotta remove the seeds and rind first. those can cause blockages and choking which sounds scary. so if you're wondering can dogs eat watermelon, the answer is yes but you need to be smart about it.

i've been seeing people give their dogs frozen watermelon pieces in summer and apparently that's legit. just cut it into small bite-sized chunks and start with like 2-3 pieces for small dogs. if they handle it well you can give them a bit more but don't go overboard or it'll mess with their digestion.

the thing is watermelon is like 92% water so it's basically a hydrating snack. good for digestion too. but yeah can dogs eat watermelon rind? nope. and definitely don't give them moldy watermelon or the kind you wouldn't eat yourself.

honestly thinking about trying this with my dog next time it gets hot. has anyone else done this? what's your experience with it?
