Just saw Eli Lilly rolled out this new Employer Connect thing to help get their obesity meds to more people. Basically they're saying a lot of employers aren't covering these treatments properly, so they're building a platform to connect companies with different administrators and pharmacy networks.

The move makes sense when you think about it - obesity affects over 100 million Americans but insurance coverage is all over the place depending on which employer you work for. So Lilly's trying to bridge that gap by working directly with employers to set up cost-sharing solutions.

They're launching with 15+ independent administrators already on board, including Teladoc Health and GoodRx. Their Zepbound drug will be available at $449 through participating pharmacies, though what employees actually pay depends on how each employer share their costs.

Interesting strategy tbh - instead of just waiting for insurance to catch up, they're going straight to employer share arrangements. Guess when access is the bottleneck, you find workarounds. The employer share model could actually shift how these medications get distributed.
