Lately I've been debating whether to go with the mainnet or Layer 2, basically a tug-of-war between gas fees and user experience. The mainnet is expensive but feels more secure, especially for one-time large transactions (like moving assets or signing multiple transactions), I’d rather spend a bit more; but for small, frequent swaps or claiming airdrops, L2 is really more convenient—just a few clicks and done, though sometimes the bridge needs to wait, and slow deposits can be a bit annoying.
By the way, I looked into the NFT royalty debate, and it seems similar to this trade-off: creators want stable income, while traders want smooth liquidity and low costs… in the end, it depends on which side you care about more. Anyway, my current approach is pretty simple: keep the frequently used funds on L2, and leave a “necessary amount” on the mainnet for emergencies—don’t get taught a lesson by gas fees every time. Staring at charts until my eyes hurt, neck stiff too, for now that’s it, I’ll do more research and learn tomorrow.
