Today’s rain is a bit annoying, traffic on the road made the coffee cold... Thinking about how every year at the end of the year, reviewing transaction records is even more annoying. To put it simply, don’t wait for the tax authorities to ask for an explanation before you fill in the gaps: I now keep a screenshot and export a CSV every time I deposit, withdraw, cross-chain, or swap stablecoins, with the filename based on the date and platform to avoid mixing everything together. For the on-chain part, I keep my frequently used addresses fixed and note “This is my own” so I won’t forget after a few months when I see a bunch of hashes. Recently, I’ve heard rumors of increased taxes and tighter or relaxed compliance in certain regions, which changes my deposit and withdrawal expectations. The more these situations happen, the more you shouldn’t be lazy—keep your records clean, at least to avoid panic. Anyway, I’d rather spend five extra minutes regularly than go crazy at the end of the year.
