Just looked back at what happened with Bitcoin over the past five years and it's honestly wild. If you'd thrown $1,000 into BTC back in 2020, you'd be sitting on over $10k right now. That's basically a 9x return, which is pretty insane when you think about it.
BTC price USD has been on a journey though. Hit that crazy high around $126K last year but we're seeing it pull back to mid-$70K range now. Still, even with the recent dip, the long-term chart tells a completely different story. The volatility gets all the attention, but the real move has been steady gains for anyone patient enough to hold.
There's some interesting stuff happening too - more companies treating Bitcoin as a treasury asset, clearer regulations coming through, and talk of rate cuts. These could be real catalysts to push the BTC price USD higher from here. Obviously no one knows for sure what happens next, but looking at the bigger picture, Bitcoin keeps proving the doubters wrong. Pretty remarkable when you zoom out.
