coingecko just released their 2026 rwa report, and it's clear that rwa perps are growing very fast
people are now using perpetuals to trade real world assets like commodities, stocks, and etfs
in q1 2026 alone, rwa perps reached about $524 billion in trading volume which is already more than the total for all of 2025 :o
this growth has been steady -- volume rose from about $29 billion in q1 2025 to over $138 billion by q4 2025, and it keeps on increasing
a big part of this is coming from hyperliquid. the HIP-3 program saw volume jump from about $12.6 billion in q4 2025 to over $130 billion in q1 2026, now taking a large share of the market
protocols like @tradexyz and @felixprotocol are helping push this forward, making it easier to launch and trade these markets onchain
open interest has also increased a lot -- it went from around just $0.14 billion at the start of 2025 to over $6.6 billion by march 2026
tl;dr: as rwas keep growing and more assets move onchain, trading rwa perps will become a key part of how people get exposure, manage risk, and stay active in these markets
