Just found out you can actually renew your passport online now through MyTravelGov instead of mailing everything in. Sounds convenient until you realize the renewal price is still $130 and hasn't budged since 2021.

The catch? You gotta be at least 25, living in the U.S., and your passport needs to be from 2009-2015 or between 9-15 years old. Plus you can't expedite online, so expect up to 8 weeks. But honestly if you're not in a rush, beats going through the whole mail process.

What's actually nice is you can upload a digital photo instead of getting those annoying printed ones. Pay the $130 with a card and you're done. The State Department says they've cut processing times way down compared to last year, so at least that part improved.

If you're planning to travel and need a passport renewal, might be worth checking if you qualify. Just don't expect the renewal price to be any cheaper than before.
