Morgan Stanley: Expecting two 25 basis point rate cuts by 2027

Golden Finance reports that on April 30th, Morgan Stanley economists, based on the Federal Reserve’s decision, statement, and press conference on Wednesday, revoked their expectation of a rate cut this year and instead forecast two rate cuts of 25 basis points each in 2027. Led by Michael Gapen, the Morgan Stanley team stated in the report: “The Federal Reserve signaled a near shift towards a symmetric policy rate guidance this month and emphasized patience. We currently expect one rate cut each in January and March 2027, totaling two cuts.”
