just realized snap and wic aren't actually the same thing lol. i always thought they were but apparently they're two separate programs even though you can get both at the same time if you qualify.



so snap is the food stamps thing that gives you money on a debit card every month - helps like 40+ million americans. wic is way more specific though, it's only for pregnant women, new moms, babies and kids up to age 5. completely different eligibility rules.

if you're wondering is snap the same as wic - nope, they're independent programs. snap looks at your income (gotta be under 130% of poverty level), but wic also checks if you're at 'nutrition risk' which a doctor or nutritionist has to confirm. plus wic has those specific life stage requirements.

interesting part is you can actually get benefits from both programs at once if you meet the requirements for each. didn't know that before. anyone here on both or just one of them?
