just realized checks are still a thing and apparently there's actually a best place to order checks online if you know where to look. been using the same box for like two years so never really thought about it lol. apparently most people my age don't care about checks but older folks still rely on them pretty heavily.

so here's the thing - your bank is literally the worst place to buy them even though that seems obvious? they'll give you the first few free then charge you way more than anywhere else. costco, walmart, sam's club all sell them cheaper. or you can go full online with places like checks in the mail which has been around forever.

if you actually need to find the best place to order checks online, the main moves are: buy in bulk to get better prices, keep the design basic instead of going crazy with customization, and don't wait until you're down to your last check. that expedited shipping kills you.

think the real question is whether anyone even needs to order checks anymore? like most vendors offer ACH transfers, payment apps, even digital wallets now. but if you're still writing checks regularly, at least there's a best place to order checks online that won't completely drain your account. vistaprint and checkadvantage have tons of designs if you care about that stuff.

the security features thing is interesting though - costco apparently has all these hidden fibers and holograms built in. kind of overkill but also kind of cool? anyone still actively using checks or is it just the older generation at this point?
