The Wisdom of Crowds” Arrives on the News Screen
On April 7, 2026, the agreement signed between Fox Corporation and Kalshi opened the door to a new era in the media world. From now on, “Kalshi data” will flow into Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox Weather, and the new streaming platform Fox One. That means the real-time probability of political, economic, weather, and cultural events will run in the corner of the screen during live broadcasts.
1. What Does the Deal Bring?
This is a “sponsored integration.” Kalshi’s prediction market data will be added to Fox’s linear and digital content. Kalshi will also work directly with Fox’s production and data teams to prepare real-time data visualizations.
Important note: Fox Sports is excluded from the deal. There is no sports data for now. A Kalshi spokesperson said “not at the start, maybe in the future.” Fox News will also not use Kalshi data in election coverage. It will continue to rely on its own polling and decision desk.
2. What Is Kalshi, and Why Does It Matter?
Kalshi is the world’s largest prediction market. Users trade “yes-no” contracts on the likelihood of future events. Election outcomes, Fed rate decisions, hurricane paths, inflation data. When a market forms, a “crowd probability” emerges.
Here is the interesting part: 70 percent of people who visit Kalshi come not to trade, but just to see the odds. People read it like news or polling. Only 30 percent actually trade.
Tarek Mansour, Kalshi co-founder and CEO: “More people are watching our forecasts than trading them, which says a lot. Our data effectively complements news and polls. As misinformation grows more common, Kalshi offers accurate, unbiased data to help people better understand what is going on in the world.”
3. Why Is Media Rushing to Kalshi?
Fox is not alone. CNN and CNBC signed similar deals with Kalshi in December 2025. AP licensed election data to Kalshi. Dow Jones, owner of the Wall Street Journal, partnered with Polymarket.
The reason is simple: audiences have “poll fatigue.” A live probability where thousands of people put money on the line feels more convincing than a single poll. The Federal Reserve even described Kalshi data as “valuable to researchers and policymakers.”
Paul Cheesbrough, CEO of Tubi Media Group: “By integrating Kalshi’s real-time data into Fox One and Fox News Media, we are giving viewers both deeper insight and a more interactive way to follow stories.”
4. Where Is the Controversy?
There are critics. Prediction markets blur the line between “information” and “betting.” Regulations are strict, especially in politics and sports. The Arizona Attorney General sued Kalshi for “illegal gambling.” A judge in Nevada blocked Kalshi from offering sports, entertainment, and election contracts in the state.
However, Kalshi argues it is a federally regulated commodity exchange, governed by the Commodity Exchange Act, and that federal law preempts state law. An appeals court in New Jersey ruled in favor of Kalshi.
5. What Will Change for Viewers?
On Fox screens, you will now see things like “Market odds of an Iran ceasefire: 22 percent,” “Chance the Fed cuts rates in May: 18 percent,” “Probability a hurricane hits Miami this week: 7 percent.” A real-time news ticker powered by Kalshi will run in the lower third during live broadcasts.
This adds a third data layer to journalism. First, the reporter. Second, the poll. Third, the probability voted on by the crowd with money.
6. Note for Gate Square
Prediction markets are changing financial literacy. We used to ask “what did the expert say.” Now we will ask “what is the market pricing.” The #FoxPartnersWithKalshi deal takes this mainstream.
Remember: Kalshi data is not a prophecy. It is an X-ray of collective expectations at that moment. 80 percent does not mean “it will happen.” It means “8 out of 10 people put their money on it.”
Result: Media cannot get enough data. With Kalshi, Fox turns the screen one step closer to a “live exchange.” A more transparent, more instant, and more controversial era is starting for viewers. Stay tuned, because news is no longer just told. It is being priced.
