Just checked out some interesting data on Greg Murphy's net worth and the guy made nearly half a million in the stock market last month alone. According to Quiver Quantitative, this congressman is sitting on around $22.9M in total assets, which puts him pretty high up there in Congress wealth rankings. What caught my attention was that he's got about $13.2M tied up in publicly traded stocks they can actually track.
Looking at his trading history, there's a record of around $700K in trades filed under the STOCK Act. One thing that stands out is a sale from back in January 2021 where he dumped up to $100K of a stock that's since tanked like 92%. Makes you wonder about the timing on some of these moves.
On the political side, he's been pushing various bills ranging from veterans benefits to education policy changes. His campaign also pulled in about $210K in fundraising last quarter, which is decent but not exceptional compared to other members. By the end of that filing period, he had $1.7M sitting in campaign cash.
The whole thing is pretty transparent since it's all public disclosure data. Interesting to see how Greg Murphy's net worth stacks up and where he's actually putting his money, especially with those stock trades.
