I recently found that I am getting slower and slower to catch onto "new hot topics"; others have already watched up to episode six, while I am still replaying episode one... But honestly, this has saved me a few times. The harshest thing about the attention economy is making you feel "if you don't jump on, you'll miss out," and then you get excited, chase the hype, switch positions, and pay tuition back and forth.

Now I have a pretty simple rule for myself: the more a hot topic is discussed, the more I check whether funds are withdrawing or if the pool has been drained, confirming it's not just "hotness riding high" before I consider it. On-chain data tools and tagging systems have recently been criticized for lagging or misleading, and I believe it; relying too much on tags is like following trending searches, only to find out later it’s all plot twists... Anyway, I’d rather go slower, lose less, and stick to this for now.
