Trump will hear a briefing on new plans for action against Iran on Thursday, including strong strikes and partial control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Gold Financial reports that on April 30th, two informed sources stated that Trump plans to listen to a briefing from U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper on Thursday, concerning new plans for potential military actions against Iran. The briefing indicates that Trump is seriously considering resuming large-scale operations to break the deadlock in negotiations or to deliver a decisive strike before ending the war. Three sources familiar with the matter said that Central Command has prepared a plan for a “short but powerful” strike against Iran, possibly targeting infrastructure targets. It is expected that Iran will then show greater flexibility on nuclear issues and return to the negotiating table. Another plan likely to be presented to Trump involves controlling parts of the Strait of Hormuz to restore commercial shipping traffic. One source said such actions could include ground forces. Another option, previously discussed and possibly included in the briefing, is conducting special forces operations to secure control over Iran’s high-enriched uranium reserves. Cooper gave a similar briefing to Trump on February 26th, and two days later, the U.S. and Israel launched a war against Iran. An individual close to Trump said that it was that briefing that led to Trump’s decision to go to war. (Jin10)
