Recently, I've seen everyone talk about "on-chain data being truly transparent," and I want to pour a little cold water: the balances, transactions, and settlements you click on actually all go through a chain of relay nodes/RPCs/indexers. In simple terms, they can also queue, get stuck, or miss data. People think that refreshing shows the latest block, but in reality, sometimes it's because an RPC is having a hiccup or an indexer hasn't caught up yet. The "on-chain" data you see can be delayed by half a minute or even longer.

Lately, hardware wallets have been out of stock again, phishing links are everywhere, and what's more annoying is: when you get anxious and check the on-chain confirmation, you end up on a fake site that leads you astray... I now prefer to wait a bit longer, switch to two more RPCs for comparison. Slow is okay; at least I’m protecting myself. After all, data is data, but the entry points aren’t necessarily reliable.
