Amazon considers rebooting the reality show "The Apprentice" with Donald Trump's eldest son potentially serving as host

Golden Finance reports that on April 30, according to The Wall Street Journal, Amazon (AMZN.US) is discussing a potential reboot of the reality show The Apprentice, which was hosted by Trump and helped make him famous. Company executives have reportedly discussed internally whether, if a new season were filmed, they might consider inviting Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr. Trump, to serve as host. The discussion is still at an early stage, and Amazon has not yet contacted the Trump family. If the project moves forward, it will be launched on its Prime Video platform.

When The Apprentice premiered, it was a major success—Trump hosted the show and also served as an executive producer. Contestants earn an opportunity to work at his company through competition. An Amazon spokesperson said, “We have been continuously exploring the future development of this The Apprentice IP internally.” He added that the show has not yet entered substantive development, and the host has not been confirmed yet.

Insiders say that after Trump won the 2024 election, demand to relaunch the program surged quickly. Notably, last week Trump posted an old article about the show’s high ratings on his own social media, with the caption: “My final season of The Apprentice is unstoppable!” (Dongxin News)
