Chicago drill rapper Lil Zay Osama and five others have been indicted by a U.S. federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit kidnapping related to a cryptocurrency-related home invasion. The indictment shows that the case occurred on March 8, 2026, with the suspects allegedly disguising themselves as delivery drivers to enter a residence in Winnetka, Illinois, holding the victim at gunpoint for about an hour, and demanding access to a safe, computers, and online accounts holding cryptocurrencies. All six defendants have pleaded not guilty and are in custody awaiting trial; conspiracy to commit kidnapping carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, while conspiracy to commit robbery carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
