Powell: Dissenters on Easing Stance Are Not Favoring Rate Hikes

On April 30, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell stated at a press conference that despite some dissenting votes against maintaining the wording of the easing stance in the recent monetary policy meeting, he believes that officials are not inclined to raise interest rates. Powell remarked, ‘People are not saying we need to raise rates right now; rather, they are discussing whether the Federal Reserve should maintain a neutral stance on the policy outlook.’ (Jin Shi)
