Last night, staring at the mempool (basically a bunch of transactions waiting in line to be packaged) felt a bit like rush hour on the subway: you think clicking "send" is all there is, but really you're just taking a number. When it gets congested, it’s even more ridiculous—if someone throws in a bigger tip, you get pushed further back, stuck in limbo, unable to move forward or backward, canceling isn’t really an option, and neither is proceeding. The mental state just explodes.

My colleague also asked me: why is this transaction always pending? Is the chain broken? I could only say the chain isn’t broken, you’re just being too "polite." By the way, I’ve been thinking about those recent social mining/fan token schemes, shouting about attention being mined, but what’s actually mined might be everyone’s patience and transaction fees. Anyway, someone will always end up providing liquidity (don’t look at me). My current principle is: for non-urgent transactions, I’d rather be slow; for urgent ones, set an acceptable upper limit first, don’t fight the congestion.
