Fed Chair Powell: Inflation from Tariffs Expected to Decline in the Next Two Quarters

On April 30, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell stated that inflation caused by tariffs is expected to decline in the next two quarters. Before considering a rate cut, he would like to first examine the other side of energy and tariffs. The number of officials supporting a shift towards a neutral stance has increased; perhaps the next meeting will consider changing the current accommodative stance, and guidance on interest rates may change at the next meeting.
