CryptoWorld News reports that Meta (formerly Facebook and Instagram) has started offering stablecoin payments to creators, using Circle's USDC for payments on the Solana and Polygon blockchains. This feature is currently only available to some creators in Colombia and the Philippines, allowing users to link their crypto wallets and receive payments in USDC tokens. The payment service is provided by Stripe, which will offer users reports related to crypto transactions. Creators may receive tax documents from Meta and Stripe. This move marks Meta's return to the crypto payments space after years of suspending the Libra project. Meta currently has over 3 billion users on its global social media platforms, making it one of the largest tech companies attempting to facilitate real-world payments with stablecoins.
