Federal Reserve Chair Powell: Inflation triggered by tariffs is expected to decline over the next two quarters

Golden Finance reported that on April 30, Federal Reserve Chair Powell said he expects inflation caused by tariffs to ease over the next two quarters. Before considering lowering interest rates, he definitely wants to see the other side of energy and tariffs first. The number of officials supporting a shift to a neutral bias has increased; perhaps at the next meeting they will consider changing the current easing bias, and the interest-rate guidance may change at the next meeting.
