The Federal Reserve held interest rates at 3.5%-3.75% today, but with a rare, historic 8-4 vote that saw the highest number of dissents since 1992.

While the committee agreed on holding rates, four officials split over the policy statement's language, signaling SIGNIFICANT DISAGREEMENT about future rate cuts and indicating a HAWKISH shift regarding the timing of easing.
Three members (Beth Hammack, Neel Kashkari, Lorie Logan) disagreed with including an "easing bias" (language signaling future rate cuts), preferring a more NEUTRAL stance.
Immediate Cut Demand: Governor Stephen Miran dissented to vote for an immediate 0.25 percentage-point rate cut.
