Just found out my yorkie can actually have oranges and I'm kinda surprised lol. So apparently they're totally safe if you do it right—packed with vitamin C and fiber which is pretty good for them. But here's the thing, you gotta be careful with small dogs like yorkies because their digestive systems are more sensitive. I've been giving mine just one or two small slices as an occasional treat and she seems to love it. The key thing is removing the peel and seeds completely—those have toxins that can mess them up. Also don't go overboard with it because of the sugar content. I read that for smaller dogs like yorkies, you should really limit it to just a few pieces and keep it to like 10% of their daily food intake. Fresh orange is way better than canned stuff which has added sugar. Honestly it's a nice refreshing treat on hot days since oranges are mostly water. Just check with your vet first if your pup has any health issues. Anyone else giving their yorkies fruit treats or is it just me?
