Just been thinking about which top AI stocks to invest in for the long haul, and honestly, there's one that keeps coming up in every conversation I have with other market watchers.
Alphabet has been internet royalty for years, but what's wild is how they've completely pivoted into this AI game. Like, they're not just dabbling in it. They built their own chips (Tensor Processing Units), they've got Gemini with 650 million monthly active users, and Google Cloud is basically letting enterprises tap into all that AI firepower. That's a completely different league compared to just being a search company.
Here's what caught my attention: the stock climbed 712% over the past decade. Yeah, that's insane. But what's more interesting to me is that it's trading at a forward P/E of around 27.5 right now, which feels pretty reasonable for a company still posting double-digit earnings growth. That's the kind of setup that usually works out well over a 10-year window.
I get that people get excited about finding the next Netflix or Nvidia story. Those early picks would've turned $1,000 into over a million dollars. But here's the thing about top AI stocks to invest in right now—sometimes the safest long-term play is the one that's already dominant and just keeps getting better.
Alphabet's integrating AI across everything: advertising, search, their entire product ecosystem. That's not a side bet for them. That's the core of where they're heading.
Obviously, do your own research before buying anything. But if you're looking at which AI stocks could actually hold up over the next decade, this is definitely one worth putting on your radar. The fundamentals are there, the valuation isn't crazy, and they've got the infrastructure and talent that actually matters in AI. Not a lot of companies can say that.
What are other top AI stocks people are eyeing for long-term positions? Curious what's on everyone else's watchlist.
