Just been looking back at how ESG stocks performed in 2021 - it's wild how much the ESG investing space has evolved since then. Three funds really caught my attention that year. Goldman launched their Future Planet Equity ETF mid-2021 and it pulled in around $107m pretty quickly. That one was focused on tackling environmental issues head-on. Then there was Invesco's MSCI Sustainable Future ETF which was actually beating Goldman's fund by like 4.7% - these guys were zeroing in on companies that were actually using natural resources better. The third one worth mentioning is Humankind's U.S. Stock ETF - totally different approach with their proprietary weighting system instead of the typical cap-weighted model. That one also raised over $106m after launching in early 2021. What stood out to me was how saturated the ESG stocks market had already become even back then, but these three really managed to differentiate themselves. The ESG investing space was definitely the place to look for equity-focused plays that year.
