just spent way too much time comparing banks for my small business and honestly there's actually some solid options out there if you know what to look for. like everyone says fees kill you, but some of these places have figured out how to keep costs down without making you jump through hoops.
Capital One seems to be the safe pick - consistent customer service scores and they don't nickel and dime you on basic stuff. unlimited transactions which is huge. downside is you gotta keep $2k minimum but that's not crazy for most businesses. no interest though which is whatever.
if you're mostly digital and don't handle cash, BlueVine's actually interesting. 2% APY on checking is way better than most banks, but yeah there's conditions - gotta hit certain spending thresholds monthly. the 4.95 cash deposit fee would kill me personally but if that's not your thing it works.
EverBank's the interest rate play if you want something less demanding. 0.5% APY with basically zero strings attached. florida-based so limited branches but they reimburse ATM fees which is nice. still gotta keep $5k to avoid fees though.
US Bank's doing something different - they'll actually lend to startups that are like 6 months old, which is wild. most banks won't touch you until you've been around for years. checking account is clean too, 125 free transactions monthly.
Bank of America if you're handling tons of cash - $7,500 free deposits per month is the highest i've seen. need that $5k balance or debit card usage to waive the $16 fee but their branch network is everywhere so that helps.
Chase has the veteran angle which is cool if that applies to you, and their business credit cards actually have solid rewards. unlimited digital transactions and decent signup bonus.
the whole thing really comes down to what your business actually does. looking for the best small business accounts means figuring out if you need physical branches, how much cash you're dealing with, whether interest matters. honestly the best small business accounts aren't the same for everyone - some banks are clearly better for specific situations. curious what people actually use though, feels like most small business owners just stick with whoever they already bank with personally
