Just saw that Jon Cheigh got promoted to President at Cohen & Steers starting this year. Pretty interesting move considering he's been with them since 2005 and has basically built out their whole real estate investment side. The guy went from research analyst to CIO, and now President while still keeping the CIO role - so clearly they're betting big on him.

What caught my eye is that the CEO mentioned Jon Cheigh has been consistently delivering alpha and creating this culture of innovation in their investment department. That's the kind of thing that usually sticks around when someone moves into a leadership position like this. Twenty years at the same firm is pretty rare these days.

Guess this is the kind of move investment firms make when they want to keep their best talent in charge of the strategy. Jon Cheigh staying focused on the investment side while handling the president duties makes sense - they're not moving him away from what he's actually good at. Curious to see how this plays out for them.
