been scrolling through semiconductor penny stocks lately and honestly the chip sector has been wild. like, the AI boom really changed everything for smaller players in this space. found these three picks that analysts were hyped about back in 2024, curious if anything's changed since then.
first one is Ideal Power (IPWR) - they do power converters for solar and EV stuff. crazy early stage, barely any revenue back then but had decent cash runway. analysts were pretty bullish on it. then there's Poet Technologies (POET), which makes optical modules for data centers. very R&D heavy, pre-revenue situation, but the technology actually sounds interesting for AI infrastructure. the upside targets were pretty aggressive.
last is Valens Semiconductor (VLN) - audio-video and automotive chips. this one actually had revenue, unlike the other two, but was struggling with declining sales from what I remember. had solid cash position though.
the thing about semiconductor penny stocks is they're super risky but the potential in this sector is real. AI and computing demand isn't going away. wondering if these specific plays panned out or if the whole semiconductor penny stocks space moved on to different companies by now. anyone following these or found better chip picks in the last couple years?
