Just found out there's some seriously valuable old money still floating around out there. Like, the largest us dollar bill ever printed was a $1,000 note from way back in 1861, and if you somehow stumbled on one in decent shape, it could be worth $1,500 to $2,500. That's wild.

Apparently collectors have been hunting for these for ages. There's also the 1928 $500 bill with McKinley's face on it - worth like $1,000 to $1,500 depending on condition. They stopped making those in 1969. The thing is, you might actually come across some of these in regular transactions if you're lucky enough. There's the 1950 $100 with Benjamin Franklin that goes for $120-$150, or the 1862 $50 with Grant that fetches $80-$100.

The easiest to find are probably the 1933-34 $10 Silver Certificates with the blue seals. Most of them are just worth face value, but the ones with light green seals? Those can hit $20-$35 in good condition. Apparently they were only issued for like eight months out of the Treasury in Washington D.C., which makes them kind of rare.

Makes you wonder if any of these are just sitting in someone's wallet right now. Condition matters a lot though - you'd need to get it appraised by someone who actually knows what they're doing before assuming it's worth anything.
