FOMC ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ and the โ€œBig Sevenโ€ U.S. stock earnings reports (Mag.7) ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Today is a critical turning point for the market, because two major events are happening at the same time. The marketโ€™s focus is on Jerome Powellโ€™s final press conference as chairman. Investors are watching to see whether his wording will changeโ€”especially regarding inflation and the timing of future rate cuts. I think he clearly understands that energy-driven inflation and demand-driven inflation are different, so itโ€™s unlikely that another rate hike will be a central topic in the near term. Also worth noting: even if heโ€™s replaced afterward, the new chair still canโ€™t decide interest-rate policy on their own. The Federal Reserve operates via a committee mechanism, with power distributed.
After the U.S. stock market closes, several โ€œBig Sevenโ€ companies will release earnings reports, including Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta. This will be an important test of the overall AI investment thesis. Investors donโ€™t just want to see strong resultsโ€”they also want to see a key point: whether heavy AI spending is starting to translate into real returns.
If the earnings are strong and provide clear, positive guidance, the market may continue to rise; on the other hand, if results come in below expectations or the outlook disappoints, it could trigger a pullback and put pressure on the broader market.
