Been digging into Web3 stocks lately and honestly, there's some interesting plays emerging if you're patient enough to wait out the noise. Everyone wrote off this sector after the crash, but the fundamentals haven't changed – decentralized tech is still happening, it's just taking longer than early believers thought.
Let me break down three that caught my attention. First up is Grayscale Decentraland Trust (MANA). Here's the thing – this is basically a backdoor way to get exposure to the MANA token without dealing with wallet management and all that crypto infrastructure headache. You're getting a stake in Decentraland's ecosystem, which was one of the OG Web3 plays. Yeah, the metaverse real estate bubble deflated hard from those "tens of thousands of dollars" listings, but the project's still standing. Current price is sitting around $0.09, down a bit today, but if you're looking at the long game, this could be a way to capture Web3 exposure through traditional markets.
Then there's Veritone (VERI). Most people focus on its AI angle – Amazon just added it to their Generative AI Center of Excellence, which is solid validation. But the real opportunity is quieter. They're building Veriverse, essentially a B2B platform for creators to manage and monetize their IP across digital communities. As AI litigation and IP concerns heat up, Web3 stocks solving these problems could become essential infrastructure. The financials are rough right now – they posted a $20 million quarterly loss – but Amazon's backing and potential rate cuts could change the narrative.
Last one is Unity Software (U). Cathie Wood dropped $6.2 million into this one, and I get why. It's sitting at the intersection of gaming, metaverse, and Web3, which is pretty much where all the action is. Their digital twin platform is genuinely useful for building realistic Web3 environments. Plus, unlike most Web3 stocks, they've got actual revenue streams through their ad network, which means less dependence on pure speculation.
Look, none of these are quick wins. The Web3 sector got hyped, crashed, and now it's rebuilding quietly. But analysts are calling for this space to hit $13 trillion by 2030. If that happens, these three have serious upside potential. The question is whether you can hold through the boring years to get there.
